Ruins at Ayutaya and working temples in Chiang Mai

Thai tech -- old and new.
Obviously, not all of the temples in Ayutaya were ruins. This one in a park with all those above seemed very much in use, and rather new.
Below is a Chiang Mai temple chedi covered in gold leaf.
Oh, did I mention that Buddhas are sometimes green.
Anne and protective dragon. The temples in various places are influenced by numerous religions. While Thailand's temples have more dragons than multi-armed horse-headed men (see the carving below, for instance), it is clear that the carvers and creators of these sacred places had (and still have) in interest in the fantastic.
