Buddha, Buddha, Buddha

They say Thailand is the land of a thousand Buddhas, and that is not hyperbole. There are more Buddha statues here than people in the Yukon.

Is this Buddha smiling? Or is that just an effect of cracks in the rock? In any case the Buddhas in Thailand very often seem to have a hint of smile--moreso anyway than those in India.

Of course there are more than just Buddhas here, like this gargoyle watching over a temple entrance.

Above is a Reclining Buddha--a pose which refers to Buddha receiving enlightenment. Also, Buddha clearly got very large during this process.
